Mowlem
Client Profile:Mowlem offers a full range of construction and support services options, from major building and infrastructure projects through to smaller building and civil engineering works; and from Total Facilities Management (TFM) through to the delivery of mechanical and electrical, cleaning, security and catering services.
Scope of Works:
Mowlem are a leading facilities management company who are frequently tendering for high-profile TFM contracts. Catering Consultancy Bureau were originally employed to assist Mowlem with the catering-related aspects of their bid for a very high-profile blue-chip TFM contract across a number of sites throughout the UK.
Four leading FM organisations were bidding for the contract and it was thought that the likelihood of the group client changing from the incumbent FM provider was small, but Mowlem wanted to give the opportunity their “best shot”.
Our responsibilities included benchmarking two of Europe’s largest catering organisations, ensuring that Mowlem could put forward a financially competitive bid that also demonstrated best practice.
Outcome of Project:

| • | Innovation was offered and forward-thinking ideas gave the client valuable options to consider. |
| • | Following benchmarking the catering contractors, CCB identified the organisation that offered the most promising bid matched to the client’s expectations. |
| • | Following a review and negotiations with the caterer, CCB managed to save £38,000 from their bid, bringing the bottom line down to the client expectation. |
| • | The client was suitably impressed and Mowlem were invited to the final stage of the tender. |
| • | Mowlem have retained the services of CCB to assist them with further TFM tenders. The result of CCB’s involvement has been to give Mowlem a competitive edge, allowing them to successfully gain new contracts. |
