South Norfolk Council
Client Profile:South Norfolk Council, located in Long Stratton, is responsible for providing a range of services for a district which is bordered by Norwich in the North and the River Waveney in the South. Catering services are provided to meet the needs of staff, Directors and visitors to South Norfolk Council. Approximately 400 staff are based in the council offices at South Norfolk House and the staff restaurant currently provides a breakfast and luncheon service and additional catering requirements include vending and corporate hospitality.
Scope of Project:
CCB were commissioned to re-tender the catering contract at South Norfolk Council, with the following key objectives:
| • | Develop and improve the service offering by appointing a pro-active catering organisation. |
| • | Co-ordinate the redesign of the catering facilities, ensuring limited financial exposure to the Council. |
| • | Attract more users to the facility who will spend more per head. |
| • | To ensure an improved return on the current level of investment. |
Outcome of Project:
| • | Successful appointment and mobilisation of new 3 year contract with Edwards & Blake. |
| • | Investment by Edwards & Blake for refurbishment of the catering facilities. |
| • | Significant increase in return on investment to the client. |
| • | The services of Catering Consultancy Bureau have been retained to audit the contract to ensure the continued delivery of high standard services to South Norfolk Council and their staff. This process is beneficial for both caterer and client, as a thorough analysis and dedicated support function will ensure that performance targets and standards are achieved. |
